Simons is only interested in signing for the Blues, and he made it even clearer by agreeing with Chelsea on personal terms and snubbing offers from Bayern Munich. The Club World Cup champions have also promised Simons that they will soon make a formal offer to Leipzig for his services, according to . Chelsea have long been in talks with Simons and have received his go-ahead as well. Leipzig's camp also shared that they are willing to part ways with the 22-year-old for the right terms. The Bundesliga club reportedly want €70 million (£60m/$82m) for the Dutch star, with sporting director Marcel Schafer also having said that they will only accept a deal if it is a good fit. Chelsea are stalling the deal as they need to make player sales to cover the Simons deal. The Blues are trying to offload Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson to raise funds for the deal.

However, the deal is on the verge of falling through, as the German champions want to sign the ex-Leipzig player on loan while the Blues want to offload him permanently, reportedly for around €40m (£34m/$46m).
