Liverpool have had some fantastic defenders over the years that have helped the club achieve some fantastic victories in Europe as well as to secure many league titles. Bill Shankly hds some old fashioned centre-half’s in Ron Yeats and Tommy Smith during the sixties while the Reds defence turned into a more cultured outfit with the arrival of one Alan Hansen. The Reds have continued to acquire fantastic centre half’s in recent times too with Sami Hyypia being a stand out player for his contributions to the club over the last ten years. The home town boy from Bootle, Jamie Carragher, certainly hasn’t done badly himself either.
