On Sunday, Wolves played their 29th game of the season, and we are only in December.
The latest match came against Brighton, and it happened to be a very exciting clash. The first half in particular saw plenty of action, with both sides scoring two goals apiece. In the end, those were the last strikes we saw, but it was still an interesting second 45 minutes. With this result, the Molineux outfit have now gone 11 matches without defeat.
Defensively, there were certainly some issues, and one of those to disappoint in the eyes of some of the club’s supporters was right-back Matt Doherty.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the 27-year-old.
It certainly wasn’t the best display from the Republic of Ireland international, with him picking up a WhoScored rating of just 6.74. He was also partly to blame for the Seagulls’ two goals as well.
Some fans were worried that it was fatigue that could have played a part in his display.
That wouldn’t be too much of a surprise considering that this is already his 21st game of the season. Perhaps a spell on the sidelines wouldn’t go amiss for the former Bury man. However, he is clearly an important player, as his 12 starts in the Premier League show, so they cannot afford to do without him for too long.

With the matches continuing to come thick and fast in the coming weeks, Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping he can keep his team’s unbeaten run going.
In other news, one Wolves man wouldn’t have looked out of place in the Ballon d’Or standings.
